Annabeth spoke to psychologist Neesha Seth about what headspace is, the services it provides, and the issues that young Australians are facing every day. Annabeth discussed the importance of early intervention, and encouraged young people to seek help early on, rather than waiting until things become ‘too much’.An advocate for youth empowerment, Annabeth spoke about her own experience as a member of the headspace’s Youth National Reference Group, and the importance of opening up the conversation around mental health.
“Starting the conversation is the most important thing.
It’s much more important to start, than to have all the right words”.
One in four young people experience a mental health issue each year in Australia, and it is vital that young people know where and how to access the support they need.
With headspace also offering online and telephone counselling via the headspace service, there are plenty of ways that young people can seek help.
