What is it?
Better Access has been designed to help you cope with emotions from problems or stressors, even if they aren’t dramatically life-altering or traumatic. Talking with someone can help you dissect a problem, then help you figure out how to solve it. The program allows a maximum of 10 individual sessions for adults with mild to moderate psychological concerns that are able to be addressed with brief interventions.
Who runs the program?
Better Access is delivered by mental health clinicians including registered psychologists, mental health social workers, mental health nurses and clinical psychologists.

This program is held ongoing, with regular sessions available depending on your needs.

Accessing the program
Better Access is by GP Referral with a Mental Health treatment Plan (MBS Item 2715). Referral forms can be found under the "For GPs" tab on this website.
Sessions with a registered psychologist will require an upfront payment of $140.30 while sessions with a clinical psychologist will require an upfront payment of $180.00. An on the spot rebate of $84.80 applies to sessions with a registered psychologist or $124.50 for a clinical psychologist. In both instances, the client will attract an out of pocket fee of $55.50.
